Rolling and notation
Which dice notation can I enter?
Use forms such as d20, 2d6, 2d6+3, and 4d8-1 in Dice notation, then press Roll notation. Examples remain listed beside the field when there is no error.
How do multiple dice and modifiers work?
How many sets the die count, Sides sets faces per die, and Modifier adjusts the sum after faces are added. Notation such as 2d6+3 expresses the same idea in one string.
What does the d100 quick die do?
In RPG dice mode, d100 rolls a value from 1 through 100 using the same random helper as other dice. It is shown with the non-3D presentation because the 3D engine’s d100 model is not used here.
Visual behavior
Does the 3D animation decide my total?
No. Faces and the total are chosen first. The 3D tray presents that outcome when it runs. If 3D cannot start, the lightweight view still shows the same numbers.
What do Dice animation and Auto-roll on timer change?
Dice animation only affects presentation. Auto-roll on timer repeats the configured Roll on an interval you set between 1 and 60 seconds; use Pause or turn the option off to stop.
Storage and sharing
Where are presets and history stored?
In this browser only, under localStorage keys for the dice tool (utility-sites:dice:…). They are not kept as a server roll archive.
How do Copy result and Fullscreen table help at a shared table?
Copy result puts the formatted roll line on the clipboard. Fullscreen table enlarges the result view for a shared screen; Exit table mode returns to the normal layout.
Fair use and limits
Can I use this during a tabletop session?
Yes, for casual play and teaching: quick dice, typed notation, presets, and a readable total on one device. Agree at the table how you will treat the result.
What does this tool not do?
It does not enforce game rules, run advantage/disadvantage as a dedicated mode, certify fairness for gambling, or act as an official game authority.
